  Happy last weekend in January! This week, Ms. Flanigan got hit with a cold, so students had Mr. Gibson in for the first half of the week. Students continued their exploration of multiplication and began talking about the connections made between that and division. Students looked at Indigenous plants in Alberta through a Social Studies research assignment and looked into Mindful Eating in Health! Students were especially happy to finally go back outside for recess this week with the weather warming up.  Don't forget this is the last weekend to order books on Scholastic if you want your order to be included when they get placed on January 30th! ** Math Quiz on Multiplication and Division Coming soon!** Report Cards come out on PowerSchool next week.  Wow, the month is just flying by! This week grade 4 students continued their exploration of invisible forces, touched on some of Alberta's Indigenous Plants and continued their practice of multiplication through arrays and stacking. Students were excited for the weather to warm up so they could go back outside for lunch and recess. It is still cold out so please remember to keep sending your kiddo with all their cold-weather gear, and some spare clothing in case they get too wet.  Lots of new books to read for this coming year! Students continued their learning this week on multiplication, focusing on factors and multiples. Began some experiments on gravity in science, continued their learning in literacy through morphology practice and spelling, as well as some reflection on 2023 and goal setting for 2024!
