  Happy Friday Families! We made it through the first two days of the new school year! It has been so nice to see everyone back.  Just a few reminders as we head into the long weekend for Tuesday: - Students will line up each morning in their designated space by the playground doors each morning, they will also be dismissed from here each day. - Please be sure to add our class instagram to your daily/weekly checks as it will be the best way to communicate what is going on in our  classroom https://www.instagram.com/msflanigansclass/ - Our weekly blog will be briefly updated at the end of each week  https://missflanigansclass.blogspot.com/ - Please make sure your student comes to school with a healthy snack, lunch and water bottle each day.  ALL GARBAGE NEEDS TO BE TAKEN HOME WITH STUDENTS IN THEIR LUNCH KIT EACH DAY  (Boomerang Lunch/Litterless Lunch.) Welcome back EMJ families! I am so excited to welcome in our 2/3's this year into room 8, it's going to be a wonderful year! A few things to note for the beginning of the year! - Grade 2/3's will enter through the playground doors of the school each day at the bell. - I will be posting updates here on the blog, but as I know these are not always easy to see in our daily lives, I also have a class instagram where I will post shorter reminders as well as pictures of the happenings inside our class.  Happy Summer Solstice and National Indigenous Peoples Day! Let us remember the past so we don't repeat it. What an amazing second last week! Started off with a successful field trip to the Calgary Zoo! Thank you to all our parent volunteers! Grade 4's explored probability this week, learned about scientific sketching for their living sytems unit and finished up their free verse rap songs! 4 More Days To Go!

 We are almost there! Reminder we are heading to the Zoo on Monday, please make sure your student is dressed and prepared for the weather! We continued our learning of BEDMAS this week in Math, and had the most amazing experience with Trickster Theater this week! In Science students are began learning about living organisms.
